Nuestra primera impresión de la iglesia conocida fue su tamaño. La Sagrada Familia es sin duda uno de los edificios más impresionantes que hemos visto. Fuera hubieron cientos de otros estudiantes de todo el mundo que hacían cola igual como nosotros los suecos de Enskilda para entrar en este "debe de ver" en Barcelona.
Después de una mirada más cerca a las partes exteriores de la iglesia podemos ver algunas partes más nuevas construidas con las partes más antiguas. En realidad no funcionó con el resto de la estructura original. Otra cosa que bajó autenticidad de la iglesia era el ridículo cantidad de andamios y obreros de la construcción en combinación con el ruido constante del trabajo.
Cuando entramos en la iglesia a la que llamó la atención era la altura del techo increíble! Fue mucho más impresionante que cualquier otra iglesia sueca de lo que puedo recordarnos. El aire era fresco y el interior parecía recién renovado. En el principio consideramos estos atributos atractivos, pero al pensarlo dos veces podemos notar que la iglesia se sentiba más como un atractivo turístico que un edificio religioso. El hecho de que los pilares estaban adornados con pantallas de televisiones y equipos de sonido, fueron algunos de los factores que contribuyen a eso. El ambiente no era tan tranquilo como estamos acostumbrados en Suecia dentro de una iglesia. Otra vez por el construction pero también por la fama de la iglesia en comperasion a cualquier iglesia sueca.

 

Our first impression of the well-known church was its size. La Sagrada Familia is without a doubt one of most astonishing buildings we´ve ever laid our eyes upon. Outside hundreds of other students from around world were queuing just like us swedes from Enskilda to enter this Barcelona “must-see”.

After a closer look at the church’s outer parts we could recognize some newer parts built amongst the older parts. It didn’t really cooperate with the rest of the original structure. Another thing that lowered the church’s authenticity was the ridiculous amount of scaffoldings and construction workers in combination with the constant noise from the hard labor.

When we entered the church we were struck by the amazing ceiling height! It was far more impressing than any other Swedish church from what we can recall. The air was fresh and cool, and the interior looked newly renovated. At first we considered these attributes appealing, but at a second thought we could note that it made the church feel more like a tourist attraction rather than a religious building. The fact that the pillars were adorned with flat-screen-TV:s and stereos were some of the contributing factors. The environment wasn’t as quiet as we’re used to in Sweden inside a church. Again much because of the construction work, but also because of the church’s celebrity status in comparison to any Swedish church.
