Closing dinner, by Aitor and Jordi

On Thursday 14th March we had a farewell dinner at the restaurant El Glop, very near Plaça Catalunya, right in the city centre. Each Spanish student sat between two Swedish partners so they could talk and mingle.
At the dinner we were served tapes (small portions) of typical Catalan and Spanish dishes. We could eat pebrots escalibats (roasted red peppers), xampinyons (mushrooms), calamars a la romana (deep fried squid rings), empanadilles de tonyina (tuna fried dumplings), croquetes de pernil (cured ham croquettes), patates braves (fried potato dice with spicy sauce), pa amb tomàquet (bread with tomato and olive oil), truita de patates (potato omelette), and for dessert, ice cream or crema catalana (Catalan custard).
During the day we had done a lot of exercise because we had been hiking in Montserrat so we were all very hungry :) When we finished dinner it was time to say goodbye to our new friends and the Swedish went back to their hostel while the Spanish went for a walk in the city centre and then back home, too.
