Era martes y nuestra primera actividad, un paseo del Modernismo, comenzaría. El tiempo era excelente para un viaje entre los hermosos edificios de Antoni Gaudí. Empezamos a ver el Hospital de Sant Pau, que sin embargo ha sido diseñado por Lluís Domènech, pero todavìa es uno de los mayores proyectos durante el Modernismo en España. Más tarde continuamos con el edificio que será el más grande diseñado por Gaudí, La Sagrada Familia, pero todavía no está listo. Después de la magnífica iglesia nos fuimos a un edificio no es tan famoso como La Sagrada Familia, sin embargo, es una de las obras más importantes de Gaudí, la Casa Milà. Un edificio muy diferente y construido por piedra y que tiene formas raras en la fachada.

It was Tuesday and our first activity, a walk along the areas of the Modernism, was about to begin. The weather was excellent for a trip among the beautiful buildings by Antoni Gaudí. We began to check out the Hospital de Sant Pau, which however is designed by Lluís Domènech, but which is still one of the biggest projects during the Modernism in Spain. Later we continued to the building which will be the greatest ever designed by Gaudí, La Sagrada familia, but that is still not finished. After the gorgeous church we went to a building not as famous as La Sagrada Familia, yet one of Gaudís most significant works, Casa Milà, a very different building built by stone, which is having odd shapes in the facade.

Antoní Gaudi nació el diez del junio en 1852 en Cataluña, España. En su infancia, vivía en la provincia de Tarragonna con su familia. Gaudí fue un arquitecto y tambien un testaferro del modernismo de Cataluña. Su trabajo es famoso de todo el mundo con obras maestras como “La Sagrada Familia” y tambien otros edificios conocidos. Sus influencias era sus pasiones de la vida: la natura, el religion y la arquitectura. En los edificios que ha construido se puede ver que su trabajo no es la arquitectura ordinar. El trabajo de Gaudí es muy único y tiene su propio estilo. Con edificios abultados de direcciónes diferentes y detalles rares ha tomado la arquitectura a un nuevo dimensión. Su estilo de arquitectura nos impresionabamos mucho y pensamos que fue un gran oportunidad examinar y ver su trabajo.  “El paseo de modernismo” era un viaje muy extraordinaro y experimentarlo con un poco de la luz del sol fue muy bueno.

Antoni Gaudi was born in Catalonia the 10^th of June 1852 and grew up in the Tarragona province. Gaudí was an architect and a figurehead of the Catalan Modernism. His work is famous all over the world with masterpieces such as “La Sagrada Familia” and other extraordinary buildings. His influences were his big passions of his life: nature, religion and architecture.  On the buildings that he has created you can see that his work is not similar to any other architecture. It is quite unique and he has definitely his own style. For example he has constructed buildings with different concave and convex patterns that also has rare details, he really takes the architecture to another dimension. His style of architecture impressed us a lot and we think it was a fantastic opportunity to examine and take part of his work. “El paseo de modernismo” was a really extraordinary trip and we had the pleasure to experience it with a nice touch of sun.
