Hiking in Montserrat, by Carmen, Edson, Laia and Alejandro.

On Thursday 14th March we went to Montserrat by coach. We met in front of our school at 8:30 am and there we boarded a coach to Montserrat. Everyone sat on the bus with their partner to tell them the story of Montserrat.
When we arrived in Montserrat, we were bored, because of the long ride (more than one hour). When the bus stopped, we got off. It felt good to put our feet on the ground. It was beautiful to see the landscape of Montserrat.

We waited for some time before we went up the mountain. We used the "cremallera" (cable car) to make it easier. When we got off the cable car, at about 920 m above sea level, we could see the mountain was carpeted with snow and there was also ice on the ground! (The day before it had been raining in Barcelona but snowing in Montserrat) It was beautiful but dangerous, too. We walked carefully until we finally arrived to a viewpoint.

When we arrived, we tried to take the best photos with beautiful natural views behind us. The teachers had time to assimilate that natural beauty and then, we returned to the place where we had got off the cable car. Along the way there were patches of ice which turned the ground slippery. And as it was expected, there were many minor accidents. We think that it was very entertaining, not only trying not to but we also liked seeing the others trying the same thing.
Then, we arrived to a spot where we stopped and we had lunch. The Spanish mates had brought lunch for their Swedish partners. We think that they enjoyed our food. When we finished eating, we walked a little bit to the car park where the coach was waiting for us and we returned to Barcelona.
We think that everybody enjoyed the visit to Montserrat and everybody had a great day!
